Article: “Berlin Wall is gone but Israel’s inhumane barrier still stands”
I found an excellent essay about the West Bank Wall on the Herald Scotland website. The author – who, oddly, is not named – writes eloquently on many of the ideas I mentioned in my last post.
You can find it here.
[Correction: David Pratt wrote the aforementioned Herald Scotland piece.]
Hi Marcello,I just wanted to drop you a note to say that David Pratt wrote the Herald Scotland piece you reference. The byline is at the bottom of the essay. Moreover, I enjoy your blog. I also really liked your Wall of Shame feature in Geist.Good luck with your work.Jeff
Thanks, Jeff. I don't know how I missed the byline.M
Hi Marcello
The link that you supply to David Pratt’s excellent opinion piece is broken as of 22 June 2016. Oops!
Anyway, I found an alternative source for the article, as follows:
http://www.1948.org.uk/news/2009/11/11/the-berlin-wall-is-gone-but-israels-apartheid-wall-still-sta.html
By the way, I picked up a copy of your book, (2013) “Walls: Travels Along the Barricades”. I was particularly interested in Chapter 5 ” A Nakba of Olives” re the Separation Wall in the West Bank, OPT. I found your book last week in the “bargain bin” during the end of financial year sale at a book shop in Sydney, Australia. I got the book for a steal of a price. I’m too embarrassed to say the price. None the less, I very much enjoyed reading it and referenced it in a opinion piece I wrote. Thanks.
Thank you, Greg. I will repair the link.
